Best qwerty phone at ~$300?

Hi guys, my sister is looking for a phone w/ qwerty keyboard that slides out, she isn't really looking for any fancy features like WiFi, video playback, and such, she just wants a nice phone to text with and make calls.

I think she will be using the T-Mobile, but its preferable that the phone is unlocked.

She doesn't really like the T-Mobile Wing, but fancies the AT&T Tilt, are there similar phones like the Tilt that are around the $300 range?

Unlocked/unbranded Cingular/AT&T 8525 aka HTC TyTN could be had at that price.

If you only need messaging, Sidekick LX is the way to go. Fast OS, great keyboard, big screen, and $20 a month gets you unlimited everything!

HTC Excaliburs can be found for around $150 on eBay or cheaper through T-Mobile, and but the $20 a month will only buy you unlimited data, not text.
