Handwriting letter "i"

Hi. I'm always having trouble writing the letter "i" on my P800. About 7 out of 10 I get the letter "L" followed by a dot (.), especially when writing quick. I need to line the dot and the bar to make it work.

The docs show another method of of writing the "i" but I can't seem to get it. Do I start up-down-swoosh to the right or swoosh to the left-down-up?

swoosh 1 line down, a tap of dot on the top of the swoosh.

should give you an 'i'
if it gives you a 'j' i guess, you've curve your swoosh too much.
u do know how to make coma ',' rite?

a long swoosh from top to left.

Yes, I know how to make an "i". The problem I'm having is the dot on top of the bar should be lined up with it. Sometimes, my dot is a bit off and this gives me this: l.

That's the small letter "L" and a period.

If you look at the manual (or in the phone help), there are two ways to write the "i". There's the normal method wer're talking about and there's another one where you start from the top, then line down, and then a small upper-right stroke. This doesn't work on me (Made in France R2D with UK English).

The best way (if you can't get the line with a dot over it) is to draw a line straight down, and then without lifting the pen go straight back up over the line you just wrote.

That works perfectly. Thanks.
