Is there a way for TomTom Navigator to automaticaly load the maps it needs? I keep having to switch to a new group of state maps since the bordering state isn't in the 3 state group I normally keep active.. Would be nice if it all just loaded and unloaded as it needed to..

No...I don't believe its possible. You just need to install a map that covers all the areas you are going to need to use the navigation software. There is even an option to install the entire USA map if necessary (from the purchased DVD) but you'd need a lot of space on your memory card for that....or...You can load multiple maps that include all your locations and then via the settings menu in TomTom simply change to the map you need at that time.

I loaded all of the US and it took a little over 1GB. I have an 8GB card so I have both the US and Europe on it. There are several maps you can load for the US. Just look for the one that includes all the US and Canada.

I have all the maps, but the US maps say "major roads".. I didn't use them because I assumed 'major roads' means they aren't as detailed as the 3-state maps..
I wish you could define your own groups.. I usually have LA_MS_AL loaded, but occasionally go to TN and AR..
Plus, unless you have the map loaded for your destination, you can't enter the address..
