Pardon this post if it is hidden in another thread. This has the projected release dates for the BB Bold on ATT, T-Mo, VZW and Sprint plus some feature and spec info.

Sounds about right with AT&T's exclusivity. I think it was the same with the Curve. AT&T got it sometime during the summer with T-Mobile releasing their's in September. Works out better for me because that's when I'm up for another upgrade (1-yr contracts FTW) .

hmm..I thought I rembered seeing Verizon getting this phone in May 09....

Oh well, it doesn't matter,,

THUNDER FTW....

How legit is this info.

300 for a Bold seem too cheap...

Posted by: fiddysheqel

Seems really early for Verizon/Sprint to get it, no?

Posted by: GregGebhardt

All of this sounds great and I hope as much as any that the Bold drops in July but all of us know that it is not official until it is official. We have been here before and know the heartbreak of date going by without delivery.

But, I am hoping for July! YES!

Posted by: CarlGalgano

Given the potential iPhone release in June, July does seem about the right time for ATT. I wonder if Rogers or O2 may get is sooner. I also think the $300 price point does seem a little low, but then again, RIMs business model of recouping revenue in the monthly revenue stream allows them to compete aggressively on price. I have always thought the initial price point for all berries to be very attractive.

I guess the biggest surprise in this info is the CDMA release in Sept. It almost does not make sense, given that Sprint and VZW just got the curve. While the CDMA version *may" be available in September, it will be up to the carrier to decide to release it, and with VZW..... who knows.

meh, no info for Alltel !

Posted by: Prom1

Considering Infosyncworld is pretty good with their news - used to be infosync.no for several years; you are correct ... official when its OFFICIAL. I estimate even with delays AT&T Late August, Mid September.

This'll mean production is UP at RIM ... can you IMAGINE the size of their coffers after THIS is out the first 3mths?!

Seems VERY early for the CDMA. We usually get them about the time the GSM clan is excited about the "next" one.

You mean like getting the Curve now?

i think these are BS claims.

No UMA on the T-Mobile version? Sounds surprising since this is their flagship product offering.

Posted by: jontymisra

My friends at Waterloo today were playing with the Bold today, and were quite impressed with it. Havent heard this much "raving" abt a BB in a long time.

Roger that. I call bogus due to that fact alone. T-Mo's version will almost certainly have UMA access - the WiFi is already included, just needs a little extra software in there!

New CPU, more memory, higher resolution, new OS and more

Be hard to not rave!

Posted by: Prom1

UMA was not known on the 8320 until roughly 45days before release anyway. I know because non of the threads talked about it for sometime until then - plus vai my online training didn't show an "intro" to the 8320 until 30days before launch.

UMA should already be in the firmware. I don't believe any documentation currently on RIM of the Bold states "UMA" either.

could be just a typo at any rate.

It makes absolutely no sense that RIM would break from tradition and offer a CDMA version only a month after an exclusive AT&T release. Not to mention that its usually a year for any RIM GSM phone to make it to the CDMA side.

it will 100% have UMA on the T-Mo version. They most likely just havent added that layer of software to it yet as GSM carrier-specific versions are probably being worked on currently.

^ Actually, UMA is also hardware-based. If it were only software than the T-Mobile Dash/Shadow/Wing would have UMA by now through a software upgrade.

I believe it's just a priority thing. The ONLY possibility of hardware involved here might be an encryption accelerator chip since I understand UMA encrypts data traffic with IPSEC to ensure privacy over wireless networks as well as protect the Femto-cell type data signalling from getting hacked.

July would be great, that's when my T-Mobile contract runs out, and I will be switching to AT&T and coppin the Bold. And $300 would be nice, cuz I would assume a new start up would get a discount right?

Posted by: Caiman1900

$300.00 seems right for a new BB with two year contract, especially when they are going to offer the iPhone 2 for only $200.00 with contract.

I can;t wait for this phone! I haven't been excited for a phone like this in awhile Thanks for the info

Posted by: ShadyRensch

Hmmm....Bold or Iphone 2? I was set on the Bold, but if they're both coming out within a month or two from each other.... What improvements will the Iphone2 have over the OG?

Posted by: jontymisra

I'm waiting for BB Thunder
