Thanks. Which network do you intend running the P905i on & where did you buy it if you don't mind me asking?

I bought mine off ebay from a seller in HK. I'm planning to use it with O2. I paid $638 for it. It includes a hypersim as well. So hopefully, it'll work fine. Looking forward to it

Did you think of getting something like the SX862 instead, as that's 99% certain to work with all it's functions. I am torn between getting an SX862 & one of these Hypersim 905 phones!

i would except the fact that is so damn expensive. its like over $800 on ebay man...so..unless the price drops i probably wont pay that much for it.

besides, the p905i looks way better..hehe ^_^...i'm planning to get another F905i...

I am interested to hear that as I thought their was issues with getting Vodafone UK SIMs to work with Hypersims?

I am interested to note it mostly seems to be the P905i that people are using in the UK, is their any significance in this?

I will be interested to hear how you get along as I am looking for as much feedback as possible on people using 905 phones in the UK.

What colour is your P905i?

i got a black one.

was gonna go for a white...but then the screen on the front cover can be seen quite clearly..i kind of like the fact that on the red/pink gold/black color, the screen blends in nicely with the front cover

planning to get a blue F905i though..hehe

Thanks for that.

I was advised the build quality on the P905 is a bit flimsy & not as good as the N905i & the like, when you can could you give some feedback on this issue?

actually i have a friend who uses a P905i here as well. And i, myself, also had a chance to play with it when i went to visit HK but didnt buy it at that time (stupid me) i really dont know why someone would say that the build quality of it is not good.

It feels quite firm and strong to me as far as i know. I would say that Nokia N95 (not the 8GB) one feels more loose than p905i.

i'll probably be able to give you more feedback on it by the time i get the phone.

But if you check out the clips on youtube, you can probably see that it looks quite good man.

Do any of UK owners have problems with your phones when you hit signal deadspots which you can encounter when travelling in the UK?

Are their any issues with getting the phone to lock on the signal again in such circumstances?

currently, i'm having some problems sometimes that when i'm in a call and my phone just cuts the line on its own..its a bit weird...but i think its just the fact that we're using the hypersim and its not 100% efficient anyways.

i dont know if theres anyway we can set the settings of the phone to prevent this..but i doubt it...and today..my phone completely lost the signal once..but i just simply turned off and switched it on again..and it was fine... ^_^

Thanks for that feedback.

I think the real test is supposed to be going through a signal deadspot especially if it's a large one as I have heard this is the main circumstance when you can get 'issues' with getting the signal back.

Add another UK (P)905i user Haven't had it long but it's working alright for me apart from the whole CPR thing I have to do when I go into areas with shifty reception. I'm putting it into 'self mode' manually when I know I'm going somewhere with no reception. Not the most ideal solution though. Is this just an issue with the way these hypersims work? Don't suppose any future updates'll fix this will they? Carrying 2 phones around is kinda stupid. I might just give up on the J-phone thing eventually.

Hi all, wow so many P905i users here. I am using SH905i Taiwan iNex hypersim with O2 and with some reasons it is not working with my vodafone, shame!

The phone was left in my drawer for >1 month because I could'nt get signal after CPR. Then decided to try last night and it works back again. Today bring it to work, train + tube commuter and it seems like it is fully operate now. It automatically gains back signal after lost signal on travelling on train and tube

Since vodafone is working on P905i, maybe I should give it another try. But hopefully it would'nt give me any problem when I switch it back to O2 later.

I thought the latest Hypersims were supposed to avoid the need for the use of CPR?

Posted by: 4agze

Super Chimp, you still need to do CPR if your phone doesnt pick up signal.

But I thought they were mostly able to re-obtain the signal after losing it & that they also did away with the need to 'condition' the Hypersim before using it in your phone for the first time?

Yep, but you still need to CPR if your phone doesnt pick up signal if they lost or you can try restart the phone and if it doesnt work, you need to CPR again. Happens to me before, but this time it auto picks up signal which i am surprised.

Thanks for clarifying that for me.
