Reading, PA 3G turned on?

I noticed yesterday 5/14 that 3G appeared to be deployed in the Reading area. I lost 3G once I was over the hill on rt10 around Flying Hills. Anybody else notice 3G in the Reading or Berks County area?

yes i noticed that too! 3g in the area. I have the ATT tilt phone. But seems like the 3g isn't fast? I did a speed test on dslreports.com/mspeed and was getting my normal speed ... like 100-170. What speeds are you getting and what phone do you have? I know other places i've been too i've gotten at least like 600-800 with no problem at all. I did notice I get 3g coverage around the rt10 and 724. not too much father after that. And I also have 3g covers by 11st exit area in Reading. Soo it looks like alot of the berks county area. I'll have to travel a little more and see where the 3g switchs over to Edge.

Looks to be lit up on my V3xx as well. I'll have to run a speed test tomorrow.

i was in the area, but not there often, so i was unaware that it was just turned on.

Sorry Masta7100 I dropped my data plan a few weeks back to save some cash so I won't be running a speed test. I'll ask a friend who has a BJ1 to do a test. I also am getting 3G by the airport on my BJ2.

will report back.

It's about time....

Is it on 850 or 1900? I seriously hope it's on 850. The coverage maps have not been updated.

ok, cool, let me know. I'm interested to see what speeds people are getting. I'm getting a pretty low speed right now. Nothing like what I get up near philly and allentown

Do you guys want a tethered speed test, or a test directly from a phone?

I'm around in Muhlenberg Township. Right by the big green water tower.

Pretty clear skies. Full 3G reception.

Any indication how far towards Allentown UMTS goes?

Not that I am suprised at all that the coverage map shows orange in
the area you speak of... I wonder how long until it gets updated.

850 UMTS would be nice. (So I could access it on my 6120 classic which lacks UMTS 1900.) I am not holding my breath..

...though this launch does come after the IS-136 (TDMA) shutoff.
I know that less a bit of a drive away - Kutztown / Maxatawny Township area had that off on March 6th, 2008.

'Not sure about Reading.

If you are tethered, use www.speedtest.net instead, then report back.
