i read many different things about the new iphone,, now i m confused

Is apple gonna release a new iphone in june or its just the firmware???

Theres gonna be a new iPhone and there gonna release a firmware update to the people with the current iPhone.

Rumor/Speculation - A new "2nd gen" iPhone, likely with 3G data speeds. Nothing official from Apple about it, no FCC filing has been found. Just lots of speculation and rumor by analysts, and then blogs pick up and run with it like it's the gospel truth.

All that is actually known is there is going to be a new firmware released. Anything more is just rumor until Steve jobs says otherwise.

You don't know this for a fact so don't further confuse the OP by passing it off as such. There are many RUMORS that lead us to believe this may happen, but until Apple actually announces it nobody knows for sure.

Where have they stopped selling them? Being out of stock and completly removing them from the website/stores are two seperate and distinct things. They are out of stock yes. But not once have they said they are going to stop selling them OR have they said that the 3G iPhone is comming. So yes it is just speculation.

And given that we're now 45 days away from the end of June, the prospects are less and less likely IMO - given that we've seen no FCC filing.

For point of reference (from my sig - The 3G iPhone Release Date) Apple was able to keep the iPhone 1 filing secret until May 17th, and then released June 29th ... so that's about a 43 day lead-time. So if we don't see a filing pop up within the next week or 10 days, I'm going to bet that it's not coming out in June.

If it just happened to coincide with some event like WWDC then they were just announcing it since it was a convenient venue to do so. They used the FCC just as a tactic to explain why they weren't shipping it out that day.

I mean, Apple could have submitted the second gen iPhone to the FCC later rather than sooner to coincide with this year's WWDC. There are just way too many rumors going around for them to not release the next iteration of the iPhone.

Again until either it comes out or Steve Jobs says the price no one really knows.

Yes its all just speculation but the running norm is that it would be released June 9th. The 16 gig 3g will cost $499 and a 32 gig will cost $599. I believe they will still keep the 16 gig edge version.

Apple has several ways to keeping the FCC info quiet, or simply timing things right.

For least example, HTC just announced their Diamond on a Tuesday and their FCC info went public three days later. If HTC can do that, so can Apple.

However, you remind me of something that could cause a delay. Last year, Apple waited for the FCC approval before giving units to ATT to field test. The field test then lasted about six weeks. So one question is, will they wait to test again, or are they already at it?

Went into AT&T today, and asked the sales rep if its true that iPhone 2.0 is coming out in June and she replied "Thats what we're hearing". I said "Sweet I'm camping out for it."
