Palm and Their 25 Dollar "shipping" Fee

Ok so my girlfriends Palm Centros internet has been screwy for the past month, so after calling Palm tech support and sitting on the phone for 3 hours they told me I would need to file for a replacement phone. So yesterday I called up Palm and told them the news and the rep says theres a 25 dollar "Shipping" fee. WTF? Its a warranty swap and their trying to charge me for it. I told the rep its not my fault that they manufactured faulty equipment. She could'nt seem to make up her mind weather it was a shipping fee or a premium because she switched between the two. I then asked her if this would be a new device and she said it would be a "reconditioned" device. Screw that I'm not paying 25 dollars for a used phone when I can just get a brand new one for 25 bucks more.

As far as I know this is the only manufacturer that does this and I refuse to ever purchase a palm device again.

Btw I can't stand these foreign people that answer, quit outsourcing and get some americans in these departments, freaking morons.

Back in the early days of Palm, if you needed warranty repair, they would send you a new unit and you would send the old one back in the box, and they paid shipping. Things sure have gone downhill.

I am outsourced from an American telecom, so I apologize for my accent and being, apparently, a moron to you.

Being Canadian sucks sometimes.

/sarcasm due to pet peeve about that sort of stupid statement.
