If a ringtone is sent through http://myxertones.com is there a charge for that?

Also, is there a plan where you can send unlimited tones through myxertones.com? (uses vzwpix.com i believe)

I can't seem to find the info on the verizon site.

It would likely be the same as you would (or wouldn't) pay for a pix message, depending on your plan. Ringtones are sent as file attachments (so to speak) to pix/flix messages. Some plans include pix messages, some don't, you won't likely find a description of a plan or option that says "Includes ringtones", but if it includes pix messages, its probably covered. Better check with VZW if you aren't sure though, because it could be costing you a quarter per message/ringtone.

That would be @vzwpix.com as @vtext.com is only for text messages (and not picture/video/media).

hmm I sent myself 2 ringers yesterday to vtext and they are both on my phone now. Just double checked my sent folder to be sure.

I just tried it all once again, having done this in the past, and anything sent to @vtext.com is treated as a plain text message--I've sent a picture in one message and a sound file in another and both were removed when I received the message as a plain text message.
