Hi, Whats the way to know the firmware version of OTB Refurbished iPhone? and If it is anything lesser than 1.1.4, how do I upgrade to 1.1.4?

I just got my refurb and it was on version 1.1.3. I was able to go into Settings, then General, then About to check the version. I did a restore to get it to version 1.1.4 before jailbreaking and unlocking. Hope this helps...

I guess the easiest way is to plug in the iPhone and load up iTunes. It'll tell you the firmware version and if its anything lower than 1.1.4, it should then ask you if you want to upgrade.

Thanks guys for your answers. But mondra357, from your answer it seems that you have first jailbroken and unlocked and than upgraded to 1.1.4. I read somewhere that you should always first upgrade and than J & U. My question was in reference to that.

Actually, he said he restored first to 1.1.4 before the jailbreak/unlock process.

What you should do is restore to 1.1.4 first, then set it up as a new phone, then use one of the programs to jailbreak/unlock.

Then after that you can sync it up to itunes.
