I just received my Tilt and was trying to find out how to turn all the data connections except wifi off so I don't get connected by accident. I've used the Kaiser Tweak and NoData apps to turn off GPRS and HSPA. On my today screen its still showing Edge is available. As far as I can tell Edge is part of the Data Network. Is there a way to turn Edge off and did I get all the data connections?

The data indicator "E" or "3G" will still appear on your screen. The only way to get rid of it is by having AT&T disable data for your account on their end. If you have disable data on your end, attempting to connect will generate an error, but the data icon will still be there. The good side is that you can still look at the icon to know whether you are on a 3G area or not, as 3G is not a data-only thing; it does voice calls too.

Note that when data is actually connected, a small E or 3G square appears along with the signal bars, replacing the antenna icon. That's the data icon you don't want to see but the large data icon on the middle of the top bar on the screen stays there just to let you know data is available in case you want to use it.

start --- settings ---> connections ----> manage existing connections

tap and hold and the connection you see ---> hit delete..

repeat till no more connections are visible..

If you just want to turn data off for now, but might think of turning it on or using it in the future, I would use one of the phone settings as suggested in previous posts. These methods will let you immediatey turn data back on yourself if and when you're ready to use data.

If you, for sure, want to make sure that no data gets accessed at all from your phone, then I would talk to an AT&T rep to modify your account.
However, I've found that you need to have two things done to your account:

1) Remove the data plan (if any) or remove the pay per use option, and
2) add a block put on the feature so that data can not ever be added in the future (without your specific consent or request).

Also, you want to consider this for all types of data to prevent surprise charges on your bill ... also think about Text data and MMS data.

Here my story, if you care to listen:
My wife and I have unlimited data plans on our phones, but I wanted block data access on my two kids' phones. I removed the data access option from both of their phones, but it was added a month later because it was "a standard option" on all AT&T plans. The kids didn't really use much data during that time, but it couldn't have been much worse because the "standard option" was the pay-per-use plan.
So I removed the data option of both their phones, AND added the data block option so that it couldn't be added againg without me specifically asking for it.
The next month, I still have surprise charges from the kids phones ... this time due to text messages that they had received. Again, not a big deal because the kids really didn't send any text messages, just received them ... but again could have been much worse. That's when I disable Text and MMS messenging on their phones, and added the corresponding blocks on them.
