#1431. They came in through the back door and took everything-all the phones and iPhones, even the safe! They also painted over everywhere they touched and destroyed the alarm and camera system.

Our store has been broken into 3 times this year! The second and 3rd times they didn't get away with anything, just the first time. The first crew knew what they were doing. We think it's an inside job in all the stores getting hit the same way. They know right where to go, and what to do.

Is they any way the phones/equipment can be tracked?

See, the funny thing is, (we're an agent) and we called and tried to track a stolen phone - which they say that it registers the IMEI in the system whenever an active or even inactive sim is put in it... and we called people all day -- cust service, and so on and so forth, and they said that they couldn't track the IMEIs... but not only a month later, they told us we couldn't put active or inactive sims in a phone to "figure it out" if it's one that we haven't sold yet or if we want to show it to a customer... we can't put a sim card in it... (we don't have a livebar and they're expensive) and if we do put a sim in a new phone, they'll take our "price protection" away... sooo basically they're telling us two different things on whatever helps THEM out... I bet they can track an active sim but I bet it doesn't matter to them - for the money they lose on the phone purchase they can get back with whoever ends up using that phone on their network... so why fight it right?
it's really whatever. they just don't want to help out.

A few months ago, the store that I was working for was also broken into. The strange this is is that they only took phones and sim cards. No money nor anything else. Too bad the majority of the phones that were stolen were boost unlimited phones which all were reported stolen. Sucks for the thieving retards.

When I worked for an agent, we were robbed at gunpoint twice, and the second time the guys were caught because the Sprint phones they stole. The police got a court order and Sprint gave them the information of the person that activated one, who told who he bought it from.

I can't click on something to enter the IMEI that sends an alert that says "Let so and so know if the phone is used". HOwever, if I were to look at the calls someone made, I can see what IMEI was used.

SO, if you were to ask a CSR if we can track if an IMEI was used, I can say "Sure, on what number"..

Now, if a number was ACTIVATED with an IMEI, I can do it, however, if someone just slipped an active SIM into a stolen phn and didn't register the IMEI with ATT, then there's no direct easy way for a CSR to track it.

Update on this story. The store manager at this location was fired for trying to make the reps take a lie detector test about the break in. She was a 5+ year employee-you'd think some people would know better...
