I've searched the boards and can't find an answer... Is there a website that will work on my pearl that will run an internet connection speed test? NOT while tethering... just from the phone itself.

those all work with my Pearl while tethering.

I've tried mspeed before and I always got an error message saying 'javascript not supported' or something along those lines.

And I mean while not tethering, F34R.

Those speed test sites don't mean very much except for your exact time and location. Speed depends on too many variables outside your control to really make those tests really useful. Just IMHO, however.

Well, internet on my Pearl is soooooo much slower than my Touch and Mogul were, that's why I want to do some speed tests. It feels like 1xRTT speed...

Won't mean much. Speed depends on the device processor, memory, the connection itself, your distance to the tower and tower congestion, plus a couple other things.

Is your Pearl Rev 0 or Rev A compatible? Are you using the Pearl in the same places and for the same things as your other two devices?

The pearl is rev 0 only... The Mogul and Touch are rev. A capable. Maybe this is why the OP feels like he's going slow on the Pearl. The dslreports site doesn't work for my Pearl either because the data are thru the RIM servers.

When I had my touch and mogul, they wereb oth rev 0 at the time, but even rev 0 will blow away something that 'feels' like 1xRTT.

But, I think you said the right thing... the limiting factor I think is the data going through the RIM servers... Any idea if theres a way to bypass the RIM servers for stuff like the browser/sprint tv and such?
