Okay, i cannot put my foot down and decide on a phone. There really isn't a phone that i'm absolutely crazy about right now.

I'm looking at the following phones.

th v9m strikes my eye because its possible to get rid of the irritating LG menus. I'm a former e815 owner and i loved the possibilities to modifying motorola phones.

Then we have the z6c

I haven't found and documentation that has lead me to believe that you can also get rid of its annoying LG garbage.
Can anyone confirm whether or not you can re flash this phone using motoui?

Lastly the samsung flipshot.

The simplicity of this phone was appealing to me, but i don't know anyone with this phone, so it makes it hard for me to want to go buy it without getting to hear a few owners complaints. I haven't owned a samsung phone since they were the first to allow video recording on verizon.

If you guys can help simplify my decision, i would much appreciate it.

no one?

Ok what kind of features do you want in a phone? The RIZR and the RAZR2 are kinda similar.

Posted by: ///Essence

features.. hmm
i like a decent picture from my phone, makes business easier for the kind of business i do.

i like a good battery life, at least a day or so on standby.

i really loved that the e815 had the flash that you could leave on and use as a flash light.. that is the most missed feature i've had from a phone, but have had to learn to deal without
'
right now i have a chocolate and it alright i suppose.

i'm really like phones that come with themes or have themes available. i'm not a huge text person, but i find that i can normally type a sentence or two faster using itap than i can using a keyboard on a computer. lol

i really like candybar style phones, but none of verizon's phones really impress me in that style.

bump bump... need some input. actually just suggest your favorite non-pda phone. i have no need for anything like that right now

RAZR2 has really bad battery life cuz of its two big screens, so if you get it, go with the extended life battery, first of all.

The RIZR was designed with Mobile TV in mind, so if you are in an area that gets that, its pretty sweet.

Flipshot has some problems. I had one come back almost immediately because the phone was giving an error message every time the customer plugged in the charger, which is highly irratating. However, the second the customer bought, they loved.

i like the env2 also, but the qwerty keyboard isn't necessary for my use. i kinda like how plain it looks on the outside and would probably never open it if the outside screen were just a tad larger.

from what i understand with the vzw crap loaded on the v9 you cannot access your texts or missed calls from outside of the phone. that really kinda sucks, i bet its 100x more awesome with the motoui

we don't get the mobile tv or evdo here. its not a big issue.

basically i need something that keeps a decent charge time and has awesome reception. yes i do live out in the middle of no where. my current phone will loose signal on the wrong end of the lower level of my house whereas friends and other peoples phones normally work. the chocolates reception is terrible.

i'll look into the phone you mentioned.

the Z9c looks pretty simple but i dont really like sliders... they irritate me
i like phones that either flip or dont slide or flip at all and everything is RIGHT there
Razr's are pretty freaking slow though so thats irritating
but the Z9m looks pretty cool in my opinion

i hate the whole touch screen thing. I mean it seems like it would be cool, but after owning a chocolate, i think thats touch enough for me. i like the phone to respond to when you press the buttons.

thats the most irritating thing about my phone is pressing a button and it takes it a few seconds to respond.

i'm leaning pretty hard towards the razr. i don't really like flip phones too much but loved the e815.

i kinda like having a candybar style phone, but unfortunatly verizon doesn't carry any thing that i like

razr isnt bad
the old razr the V3m sucked sooooooooooo bad my friend wanted to break his lol

Hi
Sorry to tag onto your chat here but really need some advice re people being able to read txt messages from a friends mobile while not actually having the phone on them? Will go into more detail if someone responds to this message!
Thanks

um.... wat?

Posted by: rachelb24

So, I'm not sure what audreymaca is talking about but.....I have the env2 and though you mentioned you wouldn't use the QWERTY keyboard I bet you would like it. I switch between T9 and QWERTY all the time. As for being not able to access your text messages and missed calls from the front - that is bunk. You can. I own the phone. This is a fabulous phone! It's small and light and fits nicely into your pocket. Truly a powerful tool for me!

Posted by: ///Essence

nah, i knew you could with that phone, but when you get a text, what do you have to press to get it to let you read it?

Was looking at a new phone too, I'm kinda torn between the Samsung Glyde and the Flipshot. Not sure what the big drawbacks between the two are.

For me being able to find working accessories on Ebay is whats probably gonna steal it for me. That and being able to mod the phone. Right now I have the Alias and my wife as the Env2. She loves the phone and the camera, just can't use the USB cable on it which for me is a major drawback. For her, not so much.

I just don't know if Verizon is coming out with anything better in the near future. I hate looking at new cell phones, as soon as you get one, something new comes out and your like "damn, I coulda had that one".

i ended up getting a blackberry 8330
