Attention NYC HoFoers!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Small town guy going out of his comfort zone next Friday May 23 to New York City for the day for the first time.

Although we have all the quintessential tourist stuff pretty much lined up (Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Center, etc) I'm wondering if you locals can point me to your absolute favorite authentic NYC eating hot spots?

deli, hot dogs, burger joint, famous pizza place, etc.

Also, on the off chance we're there through dinner too, a good place for steaks or seafood.

Thanks guys, wish me luck. Talk about a turd in a punch bowl.

geez, I been trying to organize a meet-up for almost a year....

We could meet up at MCO! I been telling Mark that I wanted to come see him and the store for awhile now. Perfect place to meet. I am sure there is some kind of decent bar nearby.

From what I noticed so far, we'd be better off meeting here and from there takin a cab up to the Village, Union Square, East Village or Chelsea for to drink it up

Great idea! I've been wanting to check out that store for ages, too.

Hey maevro, two words: DOOR PRIZES.

By the way, I'll bring the Advantage X7510 for you guys to check out. It might be your only chance ever, since it uses the banned Qualcomm chips that can't be imported to the US.

I work downtown and get out about 5PM. What time would you guys want to meet?

I can probably meet around 6:30-7:00ish. (Not sure if MCO is open that late, though.)

JN, do you work on the Street?

Posted by: i880/8525junkie

we're open till 6:00pm, we get out @ 6:30pm.

As I told Urban via PM, I'm kind of at the mercy of my tour guide (college buddy). He's got the whole day planned out and we're only there from early morning until late afternoon/early evening.

When you guys decide on a meeting place and time, I'll see where we are and meet up if I can. I too was wanting to check out MCO and say hi to Maev and i880/8525junkie so hopefully we can squeeze in a quick visit.

@Urban, grab that Diamond again please...tell 'em you gotta check something else out with it just for Friday...

Yep..............

Posted by: maevro

If its Friday, the store will close around 5pm and I will get out at 5:30.

We can meet here or anywhere else. I also live on 17th and 7th, so we can always meet there if easier.

Urban - Anything you can bring would be great.

Yeah, ill give you door prizes Jerry, screens protectors for all!

Posted by: i880/8525junkie

it's about damn time we finally get this meet up n running...

Unfortunately I don't have access to a Diamond right now. If I did, it'd be my primary phone.

You guys are going to like the haptic feedback on the X7510.

Posted by: i880/8525junkie

I def wanna play with the advantage...

Posted by: Urban Strata

So what's the final decision?

If MCO closes at 5 p.m. that's obviously not going to work (unless the MCO guys can stay open a bit later for quite possibly the most loyal customers they'll ever get? ). Shall we say 6 p.m. at another location, followed by drinks somewhere we can get food, too?

I vote Union Square area... maybe Duke's?

I just saw this thread now. While i cant make it i would say goto socialight.net setup an account and you can search the area around you and find almost anything. Good/bad places for food/drink or anything. Please let me know what you think. And enjoy the city!

The Duke's on 19th and Park? That sounds good to me. I can just hop on the 5/6.

hmm...well, I used to work @ Porky's...and I know the bars around that area pretty well...as far as the meet is concerned, we're closing @ 5:30pm on friday, so if some of u want to make it over here by then..cool..

Posted by: Urban Strata

I'm still voting for Duke's.

Guys, you do not want to miss this. If all goes well with UPS, I will have devices to give away. (Not Touch Diamonds, mind you -- a bit older stuff -- but free devices nonetheless. )
