HTC Touch (XV6900) - anyone changed out housing?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've been eyeing some OEM colored housings on fleabay that I would like buy and install my XV6900 into so I don't have to deal with that nasty white color.

Has anyone changed out housing on theirs yet? How difficult is it? Any special hints tips or tricks that anyone could give me before I spend the money and end up thrashing my phone because I couldn't do the job right?

Thanks!

The Colored cases for the TOUCH are for the GSM version, they do not fit.

Interesting - if I recall correctly, Spring is CDMA... as is Verizon...

And this says it's for Sprint...

i see where you saw that but its definantly a GSM housing, you can tell by the camera mirror placement being at 12 o'clock instead of about 10 o'clock on the CDMA version. They definitely wont fit, the seller is just mistaken

Is it really so hard to type Sprint? It's really funny to see it mistyped so often!

Nah, just that I have a bad habit of surfing and posting on forums while I am supposed to be working , so I tend to type a little faster than usual and don't proof-read my postings :-)

My point was that it's not just you - lots of people do it!

Well, I found a CDMA black housing online, but the price is a bit steep!

Is the digitizer adding to the cost? I am considering getting the VZW XV6900 but I am a little worried about the case cracking issue. It would be awesome if the housing could be swapped out... hopefully a little cheaper than $70!
