In a Pickle Between Smartphones

So I currently have a sync, and I am looking into getting a smartphone. Either a curve, centro, or a Q. Out of all three of these i dont know which would be the best. I currently Live in Kalamazoo Michigan which has a population of about 80,000,so there is no 3g coverage for a long ways. I am debating if ATT will be putting up 3g here anytime soon, when a couple larger cities still dont have 3g. So in that case i dont really need a 3g capable phone, but would rather have than not. So if you guys could give me some input that would be great.

Wirelessly posted (Moto Z6: MOT-Q9/01.04.35R Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; Smartphone; 320x240) Opera 8.65)

i have the Q and love it. great keyboard and awesome battery life. I didn't want a blackberry plan so the Q was closest to the BB without being one. it's 3G ready for the times you are in area

Curve is the best phone for you. But if you don't want a Blackberry, go for the Q. AVOID the Centro unless you like the Palm OS.

I'd say curve because i hate windows mobile.

If you don't mind the additional cost of the BB plan, I'd say go with the Curve.

well the thing is that, doesnt ATT say they have a 15$ internet plan and a 30$ plan. BB personal is 30$ a month so thats pretty much the same. If i am getting any smart phone i dont want a really downgraded internet, i would pretty much be using it for web/text, man i wish BB were 3g capable even if i didnt have it. The sales rep told me if your going to browsing the web get the 30$ month plan so, i might as well get the BB personal. What you guys think with spending the extra amount with the BB

A 3G BlackBerry (the 9000/Bold) is coming within a few months time. This is the phone I'm waiting for.

My vote goes to the Curve as well.

I have a Moto Q and I like it. It had a deal to get xm sat radio for 8.95 a month and it worked good on trial. Camera shot decent pics at jazz fest. Good deal for what I paid on an upgrade. 49.00.

Cons: I wanted the digital message package for 19.00 a month. It worked for a while but not well with the INTERNET browsers. The Q requires a pda package 35.00 for digital alone. Messages are extra. Not a smartphone, its a pda.

So I forgot about the digital entirely but kept it for the bluetooth stereo headphones, music and voice recognition. I get 200 messages for 5.00 now.

I've had the Curve 8310, and I'm now toting the Q9, I really have nothing bad to say about either device. I'm also not in a 3G area, even though they have told me it's due any day now for more than a year. I still wanted a 3G phone for when I travel to surrounding areas that have 3G, and ability to use Slingplayer.

Curve reception is good, but Q9 seems to be a little better for me, it gets a signal in a few places at work that the Curve did not. I work in a industrial environment and getting a cell signal in some spot is next to impossible, but the Q9 works in most.

I really liked having the trackball the curve, but prefer the keypad on the Q9.

Battery life is longer on the Curve, but extended battery that comes with the Q9 just about evens it up.

Push email on curve is nice, but I like viewing HTML email on Q9 better.

After having 2 Windows Mobile(PPC Edition) devices in the past, I swore I wouldn't us it again, but the smartphone edition seems to be so much more stable, I haven't any issues with Q9 since owning.

It all really comes down to what you want more, both are great devices.
