Has anyone tried to flash their own phone with this equipment?

I know you still need to GET the flash files but they say some come on a disc with this kit. Don't know what version they are but I have seen some files around the Internet.

It's still cheaper and safer to send it to one of the established places listed on this site, but was wondering if this is what you need to do it yourself.
