I begining to wonder if the gods (and some others) are consipring against me.

You may have read a post where I wrote about the problems with GPRS on my GD and the lack of help from Orange CS.

I then contacted Pana who quickly supplied a post/insurance cover envelope to send the handset to CRC with a request to make sure the upgrade was A39.

I posted this about 10.30AM Monday. When I got home Wednesday night I had a card saying that the PO had tried to deliver a parcel at 9.30 AM that day.

Can't be the handset back yet I thought, wrong, got the parcel late this afternoon and yep its the handset.

What bloody good service me thinks, but allas, on checking the FW its A19, the same that it was sent with (listen carefully and you'll hear me screaming).

So it looks like a call to CRC tomorrow to find out whats going on.

I'm begining to think it's time to give up.

I hate it when people don't listen! eBay do it to me all the time!

Rang CRC this morning, very appologetic and have asked for me to return the handset for an upgrade to A39.

They did say though that had I been on Vodaphone the upgrade is to A22 only!

Vodafone actually upgraded my phone to A21 and not A22. I upgrade myself to A39...

Well the handsets on its way back to CRC again. Hopefully the upgrade will be done this time.

Really need the improved SMS storage and the fix for the GPRS problem.

Don't know if I can keep my fingers crossed till it returns.

Well the saga continues.

Set the handset to CRC 17th May, today, as I hadn't got the handset back I rang them.

"We don't know what the fault is so nothing has been done"

I counted to 10 then told them that a letter explaining the need for the FW to be upgraded was included (was tempted to ask if any one can read, but thought I might not get anywhere).

I'm appaled that they had the handset 10 days and didn't have the common to contact me to find out why the handset was sent in. I just wonder how long they would have kept it if I hadn't phoned?

They then compounded the situation by trying to explain away the reason for the FW not being upgraded last time was that A19 was the latest they had then! Nearly said *ollocks to that.

So the job log has been updated to have A39 installed, BUT its going to be another 7-10 days before I get my phone back!!!

Did try and get some assurance that it will have A39, "Oh yes" was the reply.

You'll understand if I'm a bit sceptical.

So bad CS doesn't just exist at Orange

They suck!

Begining to think CRC have lost my handset.

Rang yesterday and they couldn't give me a definite return date but would ring me back to confirm.

Guess what no return call, rang them again at 1 o'clock today same response. I'm waiting for another call!

If no joy there will be one absolutely pi**ed off person ringing tomorrow.

The CS manager might be getting an earful.

Vodafone in Sweden upgrades to A51

Posted by: Bazzer

Just rang CRC AGAIN.

"We'll try and rush it thorough so you MAY get it back by the end of the week"

I did ask why they can't be more definite, "We're very busy".

I'm not surprised if the workshop planning is so chaotic.

Being totaly dischuffed I've just sent a letter to the Customer Complaints Dept telling them what a pile of poo their service is.

I've asked for some feedback so it will be interesting to see if they have the courtesy to reply.

I am glad that you have complained.

Posted by: Bazzer

Good job I'm not nearer or I'd have been down there beating someone round the head witha big stick.

Still convinced they have "misplaced" my handset and haven't got the balls to admit it.

Well if I ain't got it by Friday I'll be paying them a visit on Saturday I think.

Posted by: Bazzer

Its gets better, sent letter yesterday to complaints dept and they rang me to say sorry about the problems etc.

The lady in question said she would go to the workshop a physicaly check the status and would ring me back.

GUESS WHAT?

Yep, no return call.

I wonder do they have complaints dept where you can complain about the complaints dept.

Still thinking they don't know where my phone is.

Tossers. I strongly suggest going there. Good luck!

Posted by: Bazzer

Well it looks as if my guess about CRC "misplacing" my handset could be right.

I had to ring them AGAIN.

But got a less than convincing story about the machine that does updates not working correctly (this is a bit less than believable as someone on another forum got theirs done in the past few days).

Any way they have ordered a new handset from PANA for me which I should receive early part of next week.

What's the betting when I receive it the software ain't A39!

Posted by: GD87 Master

I am not sending my phone to them!

Posted by: Bazzer

My info from other forum is that if you get Pana referal the turn round is 48 hours (i.e. what happened when I first sent mine in).

When I phoned about the upgrade not being done they should have logged the job under the original code and the turn round would have been 48 hours but they didn't and its then 7-10 days.
Thats assuming they don't lose your handset.

Plenty of other people have sent theirs and had no problems.

Guess its just my bad luck.
