I read somewheres this OS update is supposed to be out in June? First it was like last December.. Then February.. Then i dont know and last i saw was June.. Well its the 2nd of June and i dont see much speculation about this?

Anyone know anything or was it pushed back until November now perhaps? RIM is doing an outstanding job with OS updates and information.

I've been using the beta version and it seems pretty stable, I am assuming it will be released soon.

Why am i no suprised to hear this?? IM hating this company at the moment.. i hope some hacker comes around and cracks their software so that these stupid devices can be modded and no be soo limited!

July?? this is non sense.. Ive been hearing about this update in December and how it was supposed to be out "soon" and here i am 6 months later with nothing new...

According to Jibi, 4.5.0.40 was released last week, so we are close but still not yet tho.

See 4.5.0.40? You don't have to roll your eye. I guess you won't get a chance, because it is an internal release beta OS that only for RIM internal testing, it did not even release to RIM partner. Therefore, the chance of 4.5.0.40 got leaked is less likely than 4.5.0.37. BTW, FYI Jibi is the mod of a popular BB forum and he also is very resourceful with RIM stuff (got his connection in RIM, heard boygeniusreport.com?)

From whom? I mean, what do you expect if you base your plans on internet forum rumors. The OS updates will be out when they're done and the carriers are done with their own testing/approvals.

Don't believe everything you read and hear.

It will be released when it is released. My guess is the 9000 series will be released first, followed by the next OS version. Just my opinion, however.

You can't read or what? I never said 4.5.0.40 is a public release, but only an internal BETA OS. And every week or so RIM releases new builds for beta testing until final version is ready. I just let the OP know there is progress going on at RIM ONLY (not you please!) Yes, the new OS has been delayed further when 4.3.1 was renamed and reworked as 4.5, and I never said it is ready NOW. You are not the only one that is waiting for new 4.5. Judging by the build number, I kinda wish it is close to first final version. It is the fact that the latest RIM-Partner release is .37, and RIM internal release is .58 (according to Jibi, it is now .58). Therefore, everything is possible. You don't know doesn't someone out there don't know neither. Be open minded, especially when you are less capable to get new information like everyone else!

Don't feel bad, guys. When I bought my Pearl in December, the service books for MMS were "coming soon", and no one has heard a peep yet. And this is only with Alltel, mind you. Apparently every other CDMA carrier has MMS on the Pearl. A smartphone that can't do something the free dumbphones do.
