HTC tilt last action remembered

i've noticed that when i send a text message or call someone on my contact list, the phone remembers what i did last. when i select that person again on the list and if the last thing i did was text message that person, it won't call if i press the green phone icon and i end up having to go back and select "make a call" instead. is there any way i can change this? i've looked thru the settings already and tried a search but haven't seen anything yet.
