As to someones remark about devices not being able to be kept secret because of it, thats exactly that. There is a reason why there is "leaked" info before any radio device is released. Just go and check the FCC submition page and you'd be suprised how much info about unreleased new devices is on there...if you are willing to dig. As for Apple: I can't imagine that they wouldn't give themself enough reworking time in case FCC doesn't approve their device. Wouldn't be a first time FCC said no. Well 9th is not that far along now....we'll see soon enough. |

They can actually request "short term confidentiality" in 45 day increments up to 180 days. Now the companies have pay for, and justify this request,and any part or all of it can be turned down a the FCC's discretion.

It's been long enough for Apple not to have any iPhones in stock, and the unnecessary build up of a week is, well, unnecessary. Again, this is not like it's the first time the iPhone is being released. It's basically being updated, and re-released simultaneously in multiple countries, and now with third-party software development.
