OK , so i ordered my P800 from gsmphonesource.com and a bluespoon BT wireless head set....
Currently I have a SE T68i through ATT wireless and I am on the $99 unlimited GSM plan....
My questions are.....
Is all I have to do is pop in my SIM, and I am ready to go?
No Configurations needed for anything, even internet ?
what about awesome sites with killer apps that everyone has and must haves and fun stuff ?
any thing else i haven't asked that I might need to know ?
thanks in advance !
sincerely,
dan

No, you can pop in your sim and use the phone, but in order to use the email client, internet browser, MMS service and bluetooth functions you will have to configure the phone. The settings for AT&T have been posted here so do a search when you get your phone. You will have to configure the internet accounts, wap accounts, messaging accounts located in control panel along with the bluetooth connection. I suggest you look at my "Bible" above to get a feeling for the menu and then input the settings for your carrier.
My-symbian.com is a great site for getting applications for your P800 and a must have is the Opera browser which can be downloaded and installed directly from the Sony/Ericsson site. Get a 128mb memory card, a nice case, and some software for encoding movies and MP3's to maximize the P800's multimedia capabilities. Remember to install the applications to your memory stick so that you don't use valuable internal memory.
Now, use the search button for learning about most anything that the P800 can do. It has been posted here before.
And enjoy your new phone!

P800 AT&T Settings from google search result post
|
P800 AT&T Settings
For WAP
Control Panel-> Connections-> Internet accounts-> New
Account Name: AWS DATA
Connection Type: GPRS
Advanced:
Server > check Username and Password required
> user name: blank
> password: (leave blank)
> address: blank
Log-In > check Get IP address automatically
> check Get DNS address automatically
Proxy: leave blank
Other: > check Enable PPP extensions
> Authentication: Normal
QOS: leave whatever's default
Now press Done all the way until you get back to Control Panel.
Then Control Panel-> WAP accounts-> New
Account name: AWS WAP
Internet Account: Preffered
Use Proxy: check
Address: 010.250.250.250
Port: 9201
User name: (blank)
Password: (blank)
Then press Done.
Still under WAP accounts, click Preferred >
Use WAP account: check
Preffered: AWS WAP
Then Control Panel-> WAP accounts-> New
Account name: AWS MMS
Internet Account: Preffered
Use Proxy: check
Address: 010.250.250.100
Port: 9201
User name: (blank)
Password: (blank)
Then press Done.
Still under WAP accounts, click Preferred >
Use WAP account: check
Preffered: AWS WAP
Now, the weird part is that nowhere in the WAP settings you have to input
the AT&T wap page as your homepage. What I did is I just bookmarked it on
the browser as http://home That's if you want to.
Another weird thing, even though we were using the WAP APN, we were still
able to go to regular websites.
MMS Settings
Control Panel-> Messaging Accounts-> MMS
Service Center Address: http://mmsc.mobile.attwireless.net
Wap Account: AWS WAP
Automatic: Off (unless you want to automatically download every MMS that is
sent to you)
Leave everything default under the Advanced button.
