Received a targeted email from Amazon on some great discounts on cell gear with new/extended contracts. Some of the pricing sounds pretty good

############

These deals are not bad. Most of these ship with WM6, and are WM 6.1 ready.

Has anyone tested these ?

Also - any experience with taking the ad into a ATT store, and would they offer a competitive discount (price match all offers) ??

Thanks in advance

Have checked with a few AT&T retail stores in the area. They asked me to forward the Amazon email and the URLs.

Hopefully they can price-match, as it'd be great to get Amazon pricing + dealer service/goodwill... I'll post any responses here later.

FYI, dealer stock on HTC Tilt is pretty low. Also, no news yet on Blackberry Bold (July?) and Apple 3G iPhone.

thanks, been looking for a phone

Does amazon require anything other than getting new service or extending your contract to get these prices? Or do they require additional plans/data packages? I wouldn't even care about the rebate at those prices either...

I've been wondering that as well... Last thing I want is to be 'forced' into a 2 year data plan.

I got a tilt for $24.99 and a $50.00 rebate, i made money on the deal ;-)

How/Where may I ask did you get that great of a deal?

I can't find those discounts on Amazon. I guess I missed out on the free Moto Q. With the price that they now offer + a 2 year commitment, I might as well get it thru ATT. No commitment (unless I change my current plan) + $100 rebate.

Often Amazon gives you the rebate as a reduction in the sales price. They may require you to keep a data plan for up to one hundred eight-one days to avoid a recapture of $250.00 for failure to honor your agreement. Read the contract carefully.

Has anyone else had problems when trying to order the phone thru Amazon? I've tried several times but keep being told to enter a valid SIM number for my current phone (I'm doing an extension). The SIM number on the front of the card begins with 890141Q, so I know it is the right number.

Shouldn't that "Q" be a "zero?" The SIM card number is all numerals. Here is an example of a SIM card number:

Quote:
SIM digits
A typical SIM (19 digits) example 89 91 10 1200 00 320451 0, provide several details as follows:

The first two digits (89 in the example) refers to the Telecom Id.
The next two digits (91 in the example) refers to the country code (91-India).
The next two digits (10 in the example) refers to the network code.
The next four digits (1200 in the example) refers to the month and year of manufacturing.
The next two digits (00 in the example) refers to the switch configuration code.
The next six digits (320451 in the example) refers to the SIM number.
The last digit which is separated from the rest is called the check digit.

Thanks! It still looks like a "Q", but I entered a zero and it went thru.
