What Carriers do you Will Pick up the HTC Touch Diamond?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I hear Sprint and T-Mobile will get it. But some also say AT&T and Verizon will get it also.

For the current Euro spec release, you should go with T-Mobile since they use 1900MHz band. AT&T is mostly relying on 850MHz so this phone would not work as you can see from this thread.

Wait until the US 3G (aka NAM) edition comes out, Mobile City Online alerted me that ETA is Sept 2008; it should be a good fit for AT&T.

I doubt CDMA (sprint or verizon) would get it... unless they work something out with HTC directly.

Sprint won't get it? Really?

I hope it does come through for Sprint, with the RAM untouched and some fuxxing video drivers this time around.

why would u want a CDMA version of any phone? is it because of the coverage?

CDMA versions of phones have NO support at all for customized roms on xda, the HTC S720 is a POS and i cant flash it with a decent rom simply becuase nobody cares about CDMA phones on any rom cooking forum.

Oh wow.

Go to PPCGeeks.com and you'll see the support that CDMA phones get. Also, as much as I hate CDMA as the next person, CDMA's 3G penetration is way more prevalent than WCDMA and its variants. Also coverage and sound quality is pretty good because of it's signal propagation properties. Why do you think the next evolution of GSM is based on CDMA?

I'll give you a 4/10 for your trolling attempt though, that is if you were seriously trolling.

they will all get it. but i think sprint gets it first because they will be iphone biased. and if htc is smart those people that dont care for apple and their locking and controlling nazi like thinking. will stick with their carriers and soak up the touch diamond and touch pro. so i wish htc got this out the door like immediately. i needdddddddddddddddddddd a new phone im boredddddddddddddddd

Posted by: RileyFreeman

well not this the touch pro. the diamond is wack no memory card slot. take that and shove it with the iphone

will an unlocked diamond work in canada? all features will work?

Posted by: Rabid_Gypsy

snowball
The Diamond should work, rogers network does support 1900mhz but I'm not sure how much of their network is.

hi there, sorry about the misinformation on Sprint... I didn't realize they would pick it up as well... I just saw the GSM phones (EURO and US) from an online vendor... its good that HTC is making this phone available to CDMA as well...

The Touch Pro with Android on it would be pretty sweet... one can only keep their fingers crossed though.

Honestly, you have NO idea what you are talking about. I have flashed my vogue (cdma touch) 4 times in the last 2 month, all different roms, all different chefs, and not covered several of the more popular roms.

WTF do you think CDMA devices has as much support as GSM for 3rd party developments?
there are ZERO custom roms for the HTC Libra (which is what i really need becuase i have to support this POS at work)
there is maybe 1-3 custom roms for the Touch and its still pretty much an OEM rom from alltell
i was only able to find 1 good rom for the Titan.
now look at how many roms there are for the Kaiser and Hermes, about 100+?

also sprint, verizon and pretty much any CDMA provider seems to cripple their phones due to crap programing (hence the daily resets needed for the Titan out of the box) no video calling, mms? it aint on the libra, im sure its not on the sprint touch/titan either.

CDMA = paying through your nose
GSM = choice

i havent used a rogers branded phone for as long as i can remember, ive only had 1 sim but that sim has been in about 60 phones.

there is 6 from the first page of the ppcgeeks vogue upgrade forum, see the first picture in this thread to see how your hand should look on your face >.>

I forgot about this thread. Thansk for the backup with the thread links.

I have run Sprint Rom, Alltel Rom with Rev. A and Gps hack, jdillard, ghtthofreeryder, and am now on vetvito's rom. All of these can be found in the ppcgeeks vogue upgrade forum. XDA developers definitely focuses more on gsm while ppcgeeks is more cdma oriented. The titan (cdma) forum is the busies on ppcgeeks with the vogue (cdma) in 2nd and I think the Apache (cdma) in 3rd.

I had 6.1 on my Titan (CDMA) back in january.

My post is useless thanks to the post before this one and judging by your lack of a response to his post, I assume you put your foot in your mouth.

So aside from flash and qwerty will the pro have the same features as the diamond?

I am debating between one of the variants diamond or pro, or the new bold.

The pro will have a slot for a micro sd card slot and presumably will support the 32 gb cards that should be rolling out whenever they do. The diamond does not have the expansions slot but has 4 gb of internal storage.

You are right about the glash and qwerty. I also believe the pro will have a bit (very small amount) more memory.

According to these two websites the htc touch diamond and pro are GSM 850!!!
