I need to get a new phone. I use mine for my primary internet. I can live with 1x on my kyocera. I was leaning toward the moto q, but did some reading on the ppc6800 and now am thinking it is a better phone for my needs.
I want internet tethering to be good. I have used the v3m and it works great, has EV, and works in Linux. From what I can tell, it seems the moto q has some issues with rebooting and locking up. I have not read as much on problems with the ppc6800. I had been thinking the q would be great with a wifi card and using wmwifirouter. If I understand things correctly the ppc6800 has that feature built in so you can use it as a wireless access point.
I don't do texting and so a keyboard is secondary for me. I used to have a blackberry b4 they had phones built in to them and I see the ppc6800 has a rotate and click button on the side. I got along great with that feature. I won't go with a blackberry because I am not willing to pay the extra for its features.
I am boarder line on EV and from what I have read the v3m is best for sensitivity. We may get an update someday at my closest tower for EV someday, and I may go with a repeater if I have to at a later date.
Right now after doing more reading I am leaning this way.
1 ppc6800
2 v3m
3 moto q
Thanks in advance for any comments.

i think the ppc6800 or the Q would be best in my opinion... the v3m razr is slow! real sluggish... so are the other 2 but not as much and you can live with those
but if the v3m does what you need then by all means get it!
but i think since you want wifi the 6800 is your best bet...
