well nobody has it yet so i really doubt we would know, plus if it does im sure att doesnt want people to know now,it will hurt data card sales.

This is a good question...All I hope is that tethering to my laptop is a bit more reliable than doing so now with the first gen. through OpenSSH, etc. Tethering 3G instead of crappy Edge would be great. We shall see soon enough I guess...

How bout on the current iPhone? Can you connect to the internet on a computer using bluetooth on the current iPhone?

If you could tether it using the 3g iphone then that would solve the MacBook Air's problem when there is no wifi around.

I guess no one knows the answer to this or has tried this with the current iPhone before which is surprising...

Are you kidding of course att will let you know it could tether , they charge more for tehthering (its like $75 a month) , Its kind of like using a tilt/blackjack now with 3g you can tether without the (correct) plan , as long as you dont get to crazy you should not have a problem.
If anything its on apple, i doubt they will allow it. it would be nice if you could use the usb cable.
Actually the only thing holding me back from buying the 3g iphone would be the ability to tether, its what i use for internet at home for my 360/ps3.
