Hey guys, sup? I have a couple questions about the iPhone 3G. Is it true that they wont be sold contract free? Cause you no normally they have a contract free price. My next question is, is it true that the phone has to be activated in the Apple store when you but it? Cause I really wanna buy an iphone 3G but if I have to pay more than $300, I dont think I wanna buy it.

Stunna, I see you are in JA. If you get a chance to see the Apple keynote, they advertised that they will be selling it in Jamaica, so that may help you. They may have a new agreement with Digicel.

I am not gonna wait until they make an agreement with digicel. I'm going to maryland the 1st of july and I plan on just buying it there. But I am trying to get more info.

Well, they won't start selling until July 11th, but when they do it will be a worldwide launch. You won't have to wait. The deal is already done. However, if you insist on getting it here you can't get it contract free. You will have to sign a two-year agreement.

why not just read all the threads here? pretty much every possible info is in every friggin thread at this point. if you're coming to the states, you will have a hard time buying the new iphone.
