Help with Emulators not Saving

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have even tried it with Auto-Save on and when I try to load up the game, I always have to start a New Game and the previous game I saved is erased.

Not sure if OP is using SNES, but I am having the same issue with SNES.

I will save the game before exiting and then there are no saved games in tab.

Any thoughts?

Assuming you know how to get "into" the phone, you need to change the permissions on the ROMs folder to 777.

THis is going to sound stupid I know, but how do you set the permissions? I used iBrickr to upload the ROMs. I can also get into it through iPhonebrowser

Actually not stupid at all. Unfortunately I do all my "modding" on the Mac. All I know is that you need to set the permissions to 777 on the Roms folder. You should be able to check the properties or whatnot through one of your programs and change it. Maybe someone who has used those programs can chime in. You might want to try www.modmyifone.com. They have tons of modding advice and I know you can find your answer there.

You can use WinSCP for windows and OpenSSH on the iphone to set permissions to the folders.

set the roms folder to the correct permissions.

I didnt actually change the permissions on the folder since I found a different suggestions that requires you to input a command into the terminal. But I heard that both will save your games.

And I would set the permission to the ROM's folder itself. Because all the emulators that I use have this problem.

I don't have any Wi-fi signal in the area so I have to rely on EDGE and thus WinSCP will not work. I have Drop Copy installed on my iPhone and I also and iBrickr and iPhonebrowser on my PC. I can't figure thise to work, please help. Thanks in advance.

I never used iBricker or Drop Copy so I cant help you there. iPhoneBrowser will let you add roms, but wont let you change permissions or enter commands. I suggest you read this

http://www.zodttd.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1890

This guide could also be used for any other emulators.

However, if you can change permissions with iBricker/Drop Copy then all you would really need to do is something like right click on the var/mobile/media/ROMs folder and change the permission from I believe 755 to 777.

Someone on Zodtt forums mentioned you can use Terminal which can on my phone installed and to insert this code which worked

chown -hR mobile /var/mobile/Media/ROMs
