But they've had seven releases of the SDK total, and I thought I remembered reading on TUAW last week that they haven't been able to jailbreak the last three or four. Not sure how much effort they may have been putting into it though.
Of course they can "claim" they'll be able to break it immediately. Heck, there were a lot of people "claiming" that they'd have the iPhone unlocked within its first week of availability. And let's not forget they got stuck on the v1.1.2 -> v1.1.3 point for a couple months, did they not? And all of the discussion is pointless anyway, because no one has any clue whatsoever what sort of new countermeasures Apple may have put into the new hardware platform. And that's what this thread was about - jailbreaking or unlocking on the 3G phone. Not unlocking firmware 2.0 by itself. |
