Before, since Apple had a revenue share agreement with carriers - you could assume they were very concerned about "unlocking", and how that impacted their bottom line. But now, with that revenue item gone ... and the AppStore replacing it, it's not a big jump to assume that jailbreaking will be much more of a concern for them now (i.e.: people getting free apps, instead of paying for them through iTunes). They may put more focus on hardening up the OS as a whole. Honestly, though - I think the market will solve this problem for them, though. If enough fun/cool apps are free through the iTunes store, the amount of interest in actually jailbreaking the phone will drop significantly - which means the labor available to do so will also drop. Hard to know for sure. But I definitely don't think firmware 2.0 will be jailbroken within 48 hours. Didn't they run into trouble with jailbreaking the last 3, 4 fw2.0 releases? I could have sworn I saw a post on TUAW that said they haven't been able to jailbreak 2.0 since the release bundled with SDK 3 (they are now up to SDK release 7). |

If they haven't put a lot of effort in, then perhaps it's no big deal.
Maybe someone more familiar with the subject can chime in. |

Of course, that will be only in areas where T-Mobile allows AT&T roaming. |
