Hello all,

I need your advise here. I have had my Motorla V635 for three years now, and it worked marvelous during all this time, but it's not functioning correctly anymore and I would like to buy another one soon.

What I need is a phone that could have the option of protecting the text messages, calls received and made, applications, etc, with a PIN code, just like most Motorolas do. The thing is that I hate the V3-style keyboards so, the RAZRs, KRZRs, and so on would not be options for me. I was thinking about the A1200, but it don't know if it is capable of doing so. I would also like to know if other brands offer this feature.

I would like a flip phone, and a camera of more than 1mp. It has got to be GSM since in Costa Rica we only have GSM network.

So, let me hear your recommendations and advises. Thanks in advance!

César B.

Blackberries are as secure as it can get.

Yes the A1200 does all of that. Also has no Razr style keyboard. It is a little harder to test on because of the touch screen keyboard, but you get use to it, or simply write on the screen.

Thanks a lot. Indeed I am not looking for a Blackberry... I do like the functions that the A1200 has from what I've read and seen. Also, I like the fact that it is Linux-Based and the touch screen that it has. I think I will go for it, thanks a lot!

I've used the A1200, and the touchscreen is not AS responsive as you'd expect it. Also, the OS on it is old. It's a very small phone though, so its nicely pocketable.

Hello jontymisra,

I would mostly use this phone to set up appointments, manage my phonebook, browse the internet and stuff like that, nothing too complicated. I actually had one on my hands few minutes ago, but it seems it doesn't have the option to lock a specific application like the V635, or perhaps I didn't find it. I went to Setup, Security but only found the option to lock the phone and phone calls.

Anyways I like it and would probably bypass the security thing that I want. Thanks a lot.

Cesar
