Expedited activation for current iPhone owners?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

One of the rumor sites has posted information suggesting current iPhone owners will spend less time at the counter getting their iPhone activated. According to the post, all that will be needed at the store is the for the clerk to enter the (new) iPhone 3G's electronic serial number into the customer's account and then the customer will be sent home. At home, the customer will switch the SIM from their original iPhone over to the iPhone 3G and then finish the activation via iTunes.

Found it in THIS report.

Again, simply rumor at this point.

I hope this rumor ends up true, cause waiting in line forever just to re-up & activate will not be fun especially if the lines end up as long as they were last year (but I doubt the lines will be long).

Also, it creates the possibility of waiting until someone bypasses activation and we'd have ourselves a cheap iPhone 3G on a cheapo iPhone plan! I'd be thrilled!

This will be good , but as always we cannot hold to it as if it is totally true.If it turns out to be a ploy to get our hopes up then there will be a slew of pissed people once again.

Do you guys scour the forum before posting? This has been put up this morning already!!! What a waste of bandwidth. Maybe a mod would merge this thread.

Let's see, the thread you linked was started at 7:37am my time. My thread, on the other hand, was started at 6:52am my time. So, how about going over to the other thread and piss in that one, OK?

If anything, a mod should merge THAT thread into my thread.
