Just wondering how many of you guys actually use the blackberry email address to email your friends and family and sign up to websites versus using it just for business related stuff.

I don't use it period. I may in the future, but I'm a bit nervous for now since as much as I love my BlackBerry I wouldn't want to lose my email address if I changed my mind and picked up a different phone.

im always paranoid about one of my friends putting my blackberry email on a spam website as a joke lol.

I recently added a data plan this past weekend and it was the first and only email I have on it at the time.

When I get back to school this fall i'll probably add my other emails.

You really should only use it for forwarding -- not a poll option. If you start receiving spam at your *.blackberry.net address you're hosed. Integrate gmail or another email service with BIS (which has its own spam filtering).

Over many years of using Blackberry, I find it better to never give out your email address and use the fowarding that RIM offers you with a plan.

I use my blackberry email all the time but i use it for business and personal, but only people that i need to stay in contact with has it. anything dealing with websites other than airline tickets or rentals car info, i dont give that email because you dont wat the advertising bs that comes with it.

I did use it for forwarding until BIS worked with MS Exchange 2007. I also had used it on a couple sites, but began getting spammed. I was able to get it off the lists before it got out of hand.

I rarely used the BB email address.... I sent a few emails from it to test it out. I use GMail and Yahoo. It's time to learn the filter software on yahoo.... I am getting too many spam messages on them
