I am a recent BB convert from Treo, so sorry if this sounds like a stupid Q.
When I click on Messages, the app that shows all messages from all email accts coming into my 8320, it shows even the phone calls.
I have separated the SMS and Inbox as per options, I like that.
I like having all my mail come into one main place, if I want to work my way through it, i can click on each individual mail box to deal with them.
Is there a way to keep the phone/call log out of that box? It is already in it's own place in the call log, I just don't need them showing in the "Messages" app.

Press the talk button, press the menu key, options, call logging and select none. It also frees up memory.

No way to do this without keeping my call log active? I like to keep a week or so worth of calls logged.

You can always reference the list of calls made/received/missed when you hit the Talk button (green phone) unless you have changed that option. But by default the list of numbers when you hit the Talk button should be your most recent calls.

Ok, will try it. unrelated question.
I have imported my calendar from outlook. If i set the BB to retain appointments for 90 days it will purge those older then that correct?
Those purged days, are they just purged from the device or Outlook calendar as well? I need to retain the information, if just from the device, thats fine, I can always reference Outlook to find something older than 30, 60 or 90 days, whatever it is I decide to keep on device. If it purges from both device and outlook, that sucks, how do I keep it on the laptop's outlook?

I believe when you are synchronizing your Outlook calendar to your BBerry device, they just make sure they have the same data on both the device and your laptop calendar. Nothing is deleted/purge unless you specify it in the Desktop Manager sychronize settings. By default on the Desktop Manager, it basically makes sure the calendar on your device is the same as the calendar on your laptop.
Press talk. Then options, call logging. It'll say "show these types of call logs in messages list" and select none. That'll keep the logs out of nessaging but still track them

Nope. After you've disabled call logging go to Messages and hit Alt-I or Alt-O. You'll see the logged calls. Disabling it just hides it.
