He told me it was purchased in March and that the warranty was still on it. Is the warranty void since I bought it on eBay?

ALso saw a lot of auctions where the titles say "Awesome or Mint Condition" but when you click on the picture the phone has scratches. I noticed that the OP's auction shows a blurry picture of the back of the phone. Would be interesting if you report back after receiving phone and let us know if was as described...

| An analyst for Oppenheimer claims that AT&T is going to be shelling out $325 for each and every iPhone 3G it sells, compared to an average of $200 for other devices on the carrier's shelves. What's more, devices sold in Apple stores (as opposed to AT&T stores) will cost AT&T another $100 for some reason, bringing the grand total to $425 -- not including the $199 or $299 the customer is paying for the 8GB and 16GB models, respectively |

1. 2 year plan commitment 2. 15+/month additionally to get the 3g (big woop) 3. No current way to know if it is unlockable, not to mention JB'able. Even if it is, can't get t-mo's 1700mghz band anyway. 4. Many, including myself are quite pleased with the first gen. 5. 2.0 update will be givin to all, hence I will get everything 3g users get, with exception of the 3g and stripped GPS, again IMO this is not a big deal for me. 6. With the limited availability of the 1st gen the prices will rise not fall after the release IMO, in fact I think I got a great deal at 400 for a 16GB, mint in an open box. Bought as a backup 7. Supply and demand economics, as the 3g will flood the market, demand for the 1st (essentially same handset) will rise as many will cling to it. Flame away kids it's Friday, and I can take it. |

They haven't said what the penalty fee will be if you keep the phone but it will probably be more than the ETF if canceling before the 30 day period. If you cancel service after the 30 days is up you can keep the phone and pay the ETF along with one month of service and internet for an extra 70-80 plus 35 activation fee plus taxes which comes to a little over 500.00.
