Can I use the pearl 8120 or 8130 software and os on an 8100?

I searched google and the forums and havent found a definitive answer for this:
Is it possible to use the pearl 8120/8130 software and os on a pearl 8100? I would assume it is just because the button layout is the same but Im not sure.
If it is, could anyone please help me with a how-to on doing so???

Nope. OS is hardware specific. 8100 software is only for the 8100, etc.

Also, if your device is working properly and all is well, why do you want to upgrade the OS? OS 4.5 will be out "soon". IMHO, you might should wait until that has been out a while and most of the bugs are out before you upgrade.

Oh, ok. I have one more question then, I did the backup /restore on the phone and deleted the text prediction thing on accident, you know when you send a txt message and it gives you word options to choose from, well the backup is deleted also. How would I go about getting that back on there?

Can't help you there. Not a Pearl user. My guess is you might have to reload, but not sure. Try posting in a new thread.
