Never said anything about a phone. And you make phone calls on it by using skype. |

I love my iPhone the way it is. I'm an extremely heavy texter (send about 2500-3000 a month) and my old q9m actually caused callouses on my fingers and it hurt (worse than playing guitar) but not having physical buttons to press on the iPhone have made it so much better. But to each his own. ![]() EDIT: I see you had touch dual... how did you like it? |

The entire point of the iphone is to be a slim, touchscreen device. They make an iphone with a QWERTY. It's called a Tilt. As much as you don't like WM, it is a Pocket PC. You can potentially put another OS on there. To add a full QWERTY to the iPhone would be idiotic. You'll have to either double the size, or add a slider - two things that would ruin the aesthetic. We've already seen how switching from portrait to landscape causes some issues on other phones, it would do the same with an Apple product. Furthermore, look at the iPod's evolution: going from many buttons to none. Why would Apple reverse that trend with it's phone line? You want people to give you intelligent answers, but we can't expect that in return by making threads that just maybe be rooted in some sort of reality? |

Why cant they go after another part of the market? They couldnt make a phone that would sell 10 million units either. Oh wait they did. Sure they could make it and make it slim and small and make it work.

Look back at the keynote with the iphone's original release. A massive portion of their design concept was based around the fact that keyboards waste physical space and can't be customized to each apps needs. Like others have mentioned if you need a physical keyboard more than a large screen, excellent UI and great form factor maybe the iphone isn't for you. |

The HTC Touch doesn't have a keyboard also. To me the point of having the iPhone is to have the responsiveness and stability of the iPhone OS on a phone that is designed well..in this case there are no physical keys, but Apple could still make an iphone with qwerty and call it iPhone 2. It's still an iPhone either way you look at it because that's the interface and system design..

I want an iPhone because it isn't any of those things. |

These people aren't realizing that Apple could do better than HTC or Palm, etc. because of the software implementation. Anyone can build a phone that has amazing hardware specs, but what good are they if you don't have compitent software that they are powering? I still wouldn't buy a non-touchscreen iPhone, but I understand exactly where you're coming from. |

The iPhone's UI is entirely based on the infinite possibilities of the multi-touch screen. Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. You want a completely different Apple phone with OS X stability and a fixed QWERTY. Looking at your poll numbers, I wouldn't hold my breath. 4 out of 5 iPhone fans wouldn't buy your device. Get a Nokia. PS. I use the multi-touch capabilities of my Mac laptop all the time, perhaps you should explore the System Preferences a bit. |
