slow iphone sync

I just noticed, but dont know how long this has been going on, but when i press sync it takes awhile before the iphone begins to sync with itunes. It takes like 30 seconds or so, i know that im probably being stupid about this but i remember that it used to be way faster on the sync.
any suggestions?
PS i already did the repair permissions bit on my macbook

it finally works out the way it used to.
What i did was repair permissions on the HD and then tooke out the itoner plug in (didn't like itoner from the beginning and uninstalled it, but it left a plugin on itunes)
after that everything is bliss
