Buying P800

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am about to purchase a new P800.
I'd like to confirm the firmware version and locking of the phone before I buy it.
How would I be able to tell if it was locked and what the firmware version?
Would the firmware version displayed on cover of the box?
Thanks for helping.

try puting differetn company sim card.........to c if it's lock or not
i dont' think there's any locked P800

you don't know the firmware version outside the box
you'll have to turn on the phone and check it

This method needs a SIM card and turning-on the phone. While in stand-by mode (flip closed): Roll jog-dial up, press *, roll jog-dial down twice, press *, roll down once, and again *. You will see a Service Information page. Menu item 1 (Software Information) displays the software versions, while item 2 (SIM locks) tell the lock status of your phone. You will see small icons of padlocks (either opened or close) and that will determine if your phone is unlocked.

Thanks to puggy. I hope the seller would let me open the box and turn it on to try. Once again. Many thanks to your information supplied.
