You think Safari will crash less with the update?

Don't get me wrong, I like the iPhone and I think browsing on Safari is great, but it crashes a lot when browsing websites with a lot of content/pics. This happens while using wifi or edge.

So I'm wondering if upgrading to 3G is even worth it for the higher speeds considering the browser crashes so much-- even when using wifi. Seems like a processor problem rather than data speed.

I am on 114, and have been noticing this more of late, either their is a bug or memory needs to be boosted. Apart from losing pages to blank white space or a reloading screen which defeats the purpose of opening a new page in safari it seems to crash to desktop with more than 3 open pages which are anyway white when I go to them.

This has happened to me at least 4 times in the last month. If you are using one page its all hunky dory but open 2 or 3, I haven't gone beyond that because its not usable (on wifi) and lots of issues start cropping up.

Unless Apple seriously beef up the ram it will continue to crash.

NOW imagine if it had flash, maybe thats the reason Jobs dont want it????

Yup, since ram is dirt cheap I don't understand why they should shrimp on it.

I have suffered plenty with Nokia being cheapskates with ram and crippling the user experience and while this is better it could certainly help with more ram, then we can even have proper multitasking.

But is it really a ram issue or a bug with safari since the entire UI thing seems to be so smooth.

I don't particularly miss flash but then so many iPhone users do and no point not having it when people need it. But its probably more of a political Apple/Adobe control freakery issue than a device limitation.

I wonder if the new iPhone has more ram.

I don't think the cost of RAM is a factor in a monetary sense but is in an energy sense. Every single bit of RAM uses electricity so doubling the RAM will also double energy use by RAM. I think this is why devices quickly moved up to 128MB and haven't really gone up since. 128 has been the standard for a long time so there must be a very good reason.

That was the biggest issues with nokia, Thank God they finally resolved it, but they would give u a phone with all theses features and no ram to support, that used to kill me.

I have the nokia n95-4 and when I do visit sites that are heavy intesive graphic sites the nokia browswer sometimes closes on me too... specially if javascripts are involved so I think as long as it doesn't happen all the time.. I can live with it

At least when it crashes, you'll be able to reopen and reload pages faster with 3G.

Well I hope the fix the iPod part. I hate that it keeps losing play counts. I have play lists that should only play songs that have a zero play count and I keep getting the same songs cause the iPod does not keep the play counts most of the time.

@Linux23 so true lol. It is very annoying, but what can you do?
