Hey guys,
I have four lines that are upgradable, and it belongs to my parents and my little brothers and sisters. I was wondering how much you guys think i can get if i get 3G iphones for all the lines, then cancel the data plan and tell AT & T that i decided to use a diff phone and then cell them all on Ebay. How much do you guys think i can get for the 8gb and the 16 gb?

Marketing 101: the markets sets the price. List them and see what they'll fetch. That's the only way to find out.

1 million dollars....... eh, not gonna happen. you will be stuck with the data plan, they aren't gonna let you cancel that. AT&T is not stupid so it's gonna be tough to make a buck this go round.

You migh want to make sure that he agreement for the iPhone does not include a 2 year commitment on the data part. Att is subsudizing the cost on this phone and they are not gonna like it if you "swith" to a different phone shortly after getting the iPhone. There might be something in the contract about it, I am aware that the contract for the iPhone will not be the standard one that they use with other phones.

Until they're unlocked (If they're unlocked) anyone that buys them from you will also need to get a contract with AT&T. So there's little motivation to buy aftermarket at a premium. And in order to sell them without losing money you'll have to sell them for more than AT&T/Apple is selling them for.

So you'll have to spend the $199/299 for the phones,

If you cancel within 30 days you need to return the phones which means you need to wait the 30 days outside the BRP and then cancel each data plan, effectively breaking your contract, It's anyone's guess what AT&T will charge you.

You're looking at purchase + 1 month service + ETF + your time.

If it's not unlocked within those 30 days it'll be cheaper to just buy retail.
