Computer not recognizing iPhone anymore

Tonight, I came to add more songs to my iPhone and now my computer will no longer recognize it. This message shows up: iTunes could not connect to the iPhone "" because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001).

This has never happened before. Is there any way to fix this???

BTW, my phone is jailbroken with iLiberty+.

I too used to jailbreak my phone, and I would occasionally get messages like that. (In fact it's one of the biggest reasons I stopped jailbraking) When I did, the only thing I could do was do a full restore. Usually I would have to put the phone into recovery mode to do so.

Here is an article that describes how to use recovery mode.

Realize that as long as you are running non-standard firmware/software these are the kind of niggles that pop-up.

i know this may sound dumb, but have you tried just restarting the computer? My iPhone is jailbroken using iLiberty+ & i sometimes get that message, usually after buying music on amazon (and amazon automatically uploading it to iTunes). If I then close iTunes & re-open it it usally works again, but sometimes i have to restart...

if restarting the pc does not work, you might also want to try replacing the usb cable, I had the same problem I used another apple usb cable and the problem went away.

Very good point about the cable - also check the USB port. iTunes works better if the iPhone is plugged into a direct USB port, not a hub.

I just with the OP would chime in with that the solution was, I'm curious.

this happened to me last week, and i had to do a full restore, which pissed me off a lot, cause i had to put everything back on to my phone, which takes 2-3 hours. With the jailbreak and everything. Mine happened like 1 in the morning.
