1) Do I include the SIM in the sale? (I know there are concerns about completely removing data here but I'm not too worried about this) 3) My phone is Jailbroken - do I need to do a complete factory reset from iTunes, avoid activating the phone, then jailbreak it again? Doesn't the phone activate after you do a reset in itunes, even before you tell it to use a phone number? (it's been a few months since I've done this - can't remember) 4) My phone is not stable when Jailbroken, I have had to reset it 3 or 4 times because certain programs either caused the phone to freeze, crash, or do odd things like not allowing the screen to turn off without locking. Should I be worried about selling my phone and being held responsible when the buyer gets all sorts of issues with the jailbroken phone? Their paying $100+ extra for it to be jailbroken so they obviously don't realize how easy it is to reset and re-jailbreak it. 5) and the big one: Do I need to set my phone up for being sold before the 11th? I'm assuming that doing a factory reset in iTunes after 7/11 would mean that it would install the 2.0 software and prevent it from being Jailbroken (and downgrading I'm assuming is an unknown possibility with 2.0?) I'll put a guide together if I get some good answers. I've seen bits and pieces by searching but not everything. |

2. Just use the reset all settings and data button in the iPhone. I'm sure that the guy buying the phone wants to use the phone not use it as an identity theft device. 3. Don't do the reset in iTunes, there's a button in the iphone that allows you to erase the data and settings off the iphone. I've done it before selling my iphone before. It works fine. 4. Well, you don't have to tell the buyer. They might assume its the apps they are using not the phone itself. 5. Yes, sell it before july 11th, not because the firmware update, but because people will assume that you can get an iphone for 199/299 in stores and not buy yours. |
