I live in Mississauga - just ot my hands on a Siemens S40 off Ebay. Brilliant phone - I just dislike that I can't compose e-mail on it, but can receive it.

Anyway - my questions:
(1) Any place in the GTA where I can pick up a handsfree kit for it?
(2) Why does the battery life on this phone blow chunks?

For now you can probably purchase the S40 headset from Siemen's US website... As for the battery life what version firmware do you have? press *#06# and then press down on the volume key.

Get the phone flashed to v.3.2.0 or better yet see if you can return the phone and purchase one from Siemen's US website. Older S40 firmware can be a mess.

I tried to order the desktop charger and the hands free kit from Siemens web site. However, although the web site says they do have stock for those items, I just received an email from them and mentions that there is back order. So I guess there is no quick way to get the hands free kit and desktop charge in North America at this moment.

BTW, firmware version 2.10 is a big mess, but the battery life seems ok for me. It lasts about 2 days for me (because I heavily use the IR port to import phone numbers from outlook and compose ring tones using the handset). My friend also has a S40 with version 2.1. He told me the phone last about 3 days for him (he just a normal phone user -> just make/receive phone calls only)
