ATT Palm centro and Data or Media plan question.

Im all set to pull the trigger on a white palm centro and now im reading that ATT will force me in to getting a data plan???
is this true?

the phone will be used for text and a few picture messages....
does this phone use data to send text or sms.

The Palm Centro is a PDA and requires a PDA data plan for full data activity. You need at least pay per use data to send multimedia messages. Multimedia messages need the data channel to send and receive but you are charged data use for sending and receiving multimedia messages. If you are going to use pay per use data, you have to make sure that all other data use except multimedia will be disabled. You could use up the $30.00 it cost for a PDA data plan in one session.
