Good phone to buy in Italy

So here we are in Italy, without service because we use CDMA. So what I'd like to know is what phone we should buy. Ideally under 200 Euros and unlockable and quad band. Bonus points if it's a Nokia, can be tethered, and you can tell me exactly where to buy it in Rome. The 6120 is really nice, but it doesn't seem to be able to be unlocked. If my dad takes it to Sweden, he can still use it with another prepaid SIM seeing as it's still Vodafone's network, right? And what's the deal with tethering to a laptop.. in Canada prices for it are through the roof so nobody bothers. So how much is it here?
Advice is appreciated.

Hi Eric!
Hope i'm not too late to help you, since ten days already went by!
I'm Italian and I live in Rome, so I think I can really help you!
I really suggest you to buy a Nokia E51 (the best phone I've ever had!), it's quadri-band so you will be able to use it when you go back to the U.S.A!
The current price for it here is about 200,00 €!
6120 also is a very good phone, quadriband as well, and it will cost you about 140,00 €, but the battery capacity is not so good!
Anyway, if you just need a phone to use in Italy, and all across Europe, you won't need a Quadriband, you can find a cheap (and very good) Nokia dual-band phone for as little as 20,00 € here (you buy just the phone, and it's unlocked, we don't have locked phones here in Italy, except a few phones sold by TRE-H3G carrier)!
I hope I've been useful to you, and I wish you a pleasant stay here in our country!
Luca
