With SDK out, potentially possible to have BBM on iPhone?

The one feature I'm really missing on my iPhone is BBM (Blackberry Messenger). Isn't it potentially possible to have BBM on an iPhone with some software hacks? For example, I know that there is Blackberry Connect for Windows Mobile devices, which gives you a special PIN. Now, using that PIN, isn't it possible to get the Blackberry plan on your provider and make the system think you have a Blackberry (although of course it's an iPhone)??

That'd only help those that aren't on legit plans since iPhone plans aren't provisioned the same as Blackberry plans (at least on AT&T). Unless RIM allows for alternative devices on BBM, then it probably won't be on the Appstore IMO.

I wonder if a bberry device would be able to recognize an iPhone. It would be great though.

RIM would have to issue virtual PIN numbers to devices (or at least to each license of their software) in order to do BlackBerry messaging (as you know, it's PIN-to-PIN). That also means it would have to have access to either the BlackBerry Internet Service or your company's Enterprise Server as a "proxy" to the internet.
Given that the iPhone was recently poised as a enterprise solution, I doubt that RIM would forsake their own devices (especially the upcoming Bold and Thunder) to create virtual BlackBerry software for the iPhone. Then again, they did make BlackBerry for Windows Mobile for certain devices, but I don't think they have Messenger in it.
