since the iphone is coming to canada and rogers is the service provider i got a few questions:

1. can i now upgrade firmwares without worry about unlock methods, because now itll read a rogers sim card as activated?
2. do i still need to bypass activation even if i got a rogers plan on my rogers sim (not necessarily the iphone plan)

If you mean on a 1st gen iPhone it would be dependent on rogers offering an iphone plan for that phone. Best bet would be to call rogers and ask if you can activate an old iPhone under the new iPhone plans.

well, i got a 1st gen, and a rogers plan (non-iphone plan). so i cant just upgrade without unlock/bypass?
