Getting Landline Number back in phonebook?

I have had voip for a year now (voip.com) and everything is wonderful, except for the fact that my number was removed from the local telephone book even though the Bellsouth (the landline company at the time) told me it would stay in.

Now AT&T is the provider, and the new books came out a month or so ago and my name is not in it.

Does anyone have AT&T as their landline option and gotten their name in the book? If so, who did you call?

I called sales and they told me I had to be an AT&T customer to get my name in the book. I see where other people with other companies have gotten their names back in the book, but wondered if anyone had any luck with AT&T. If so, who did you call?

All Bell companies will sell you a whitepages listing.

It used to be about $3 a year. Now its probably $5 a month.
But they'll definitely sell it.

Call your state utility board and make a complaint.
